Artist: Stalley (Prod. Harry Fraud)
Track: Petrin Hill Peonies (WaveMix)
Album: Adrift

I know I don’t update this blog nearly as often as I should be, and I’m working on that (really, I am), but for now I figured I’d pop in with a quick mixtape recommendation. Harry Fraud finally released his Adrift mixtape this week, and its a pretty great mix of major label and independent artists over the smoke session beats Fraud is known for. Head over to DatPiff for the free download.

“Motherfucker, you in space. Gravitation is just holding you down right now.”

Quote of the Year candidate right here.

Guys. Guys. Guys.

I’m a little late posting this, but Tha Alkaholiks and The Beatnuts formed a supergroup. They probably could’ve come up with a better name than LikNuts, but I’ll let it slide since they wrote me a theme song. It’s pretty fantastic.

And Azma’s hoodie? You KNOW that’s in the mail already.

Now, back to reality, and the continued search for a job that I’m starting to think will never be found.

Artist: Meyhem Lauren
Track: Grown Man Palettes f/ Sean Price
Album: Respect The Fly Shit

Am I the only person who listens to new mixtapes/albums at least twice when they drop? Maybe it’s just me, but just like with movies, I feel like there’s no way you’re going to catch everything on the first spin. Either way, after several spins this morning, I can whole-heartily recommend that you go and download Meyhem’s new Respect The Fly Shit LP. It’s high quality, has great features and production — minus one appearance by Riff Raff —  and comes for the low, low price of $free.99.

Go check it out.

Artist: A$AP Rocky
Track: Brand New Guy f/ Schoolboy Q
Album: LiveLoveA$AP

Rock and Q finally dropped off the visuals to one of the best tracks from LiveLoveA$AP. Here’s hoping I get another chance to see Schoolboy live during the Childish Gambino show tomorrow night. I’d gladly settle for Danny Brown as a replacement.

Artist: E-40
Track: Fuck Em
Album: Revenue Retrievin’: Overtime Shift

Been on a 40 Water kick since Saturday. Not sure why, but who cares. It’s an excuse to play great Bay Area hip hop.

Artist: David Banner
Track: Believe feat. Big K.R.I.T.
Album:  Sex, Drugs, and Video Games

Still waiting to find out if my articles are going to get published, but the fact that I was able to actually snag a couple of freelance jobs last week has me thinking that a writing career might be possible after all. Maybe I’ve worked my last IT job after all.

Hope everybody’s Monday is starting off alright. Mine started with a leaky dishwasher, but there’s definitely potential for the day to get better. This David Banner and Big K.R.I.T. is certainly helping.

Well I thought I was going to bed…

But how can I sleep when Jadakiss just dropped his new mixtape?

Artist: Phonte
Track: The Life of Kings feat. Big K.R.I.T. & Evidence
Album: Charity Starts At Home

First The Good Fight, now Phonte links up with Big K.R.I.T. and Evidence his Mom to drop a set of visuals for The Life of Kings?

I have to say, today might be a good day.

Artist: Don Trip
Track: Like Me
Album: Guerilla

I think this track speaks for itself. I want to send a quick thanks out to everyone that has stuck around while posting has been scarce these last couple of weeks. Life has been a little hectic, and I’ve got some big things in the pipeline both here and for SFB, so I promise all this down time will pay off soon. At least, I hope so.
