First Week In The Books
So it turns out, when you wake up at 2am on Monday, there is a relatively distraction-free period of time during which you can accomplish ALL the things. Or, at least that’s the situation I found myself in this morning. I even had time to write a new post for this blog!
I’ve officially lasted one whole week as a professional reporter now. To be honest, there were a couple of times I wasn’t sure that would be the case. Switching careers has proven to be more nerve-wracking than I imagined it would be, but I’m definitely glad I made the jump. I’m still trying to figure out how some people manage to maintain 9000 online presences at a time (I’m looking at you Matt Keyes), but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it eventually.
I’m hoping to get some sort of regular schedule going that will allow me to write for the International Digital Times, ShortFormBlog, and the occasional post here as well, but I’m still not quite sure if I can do all three.
In the interim, gotta do a bit of shameless plugging, because I really want to prove that people actually care about things other than viral videos and iPhone rumors. Admittedly, posts like these are probably going to pop up on this blog about once a week, but hopefully you won’t hold it against me.
So here’s some of my work from my first 10 days at iDT, plus a link that will allow you to follow everything I write for the site going forward.

I really appreciate everybody’s support over the last year or so. Never thought I’d have an actual career writing only a year after starting a blog.
