Am I the only person who listens to new mixtapes/albums at least twice when they drop? Maybe it’s just me, but just like with movies, I feel like there’s no way you’re going to catch everything on the first spin. Either way, after several spins this morning, I can whole-heartily recommend that you go and download Meyhem’s new Respect The Fly Shit LP. Mood Music Mondays: Illa Ghee- Price to be Illa

Honestly, I’m not sure how great of a selection this track is for this week’s Mood Music. Not because the track isn’t good(to be fair, Illa Ghee’s verses are mediocre) but because it’s going to make you wish you were back in your car instead of behind your desk. Featuring another killer verse from Sean Price, hopefully Price to be Illa will be enough to help you get through another Monday.

Freestyle Fridays- Heltah Skeltah Edition

I’m done with news for the week. If I read another word about Osama bin Laden, Pakistan, or the Royal Wedding then I’m sure I’ll suffer an aneurysm. That being said, I’m also constantly looking for excuses to post some of my favorite hip hop. Out of these two problems, and borrowing an idea from most hip hop blogs, Freestyle Friday was born. Every Friday I’ll post a freestyle: whether it be an old favorite, or one that just dropped that week.

I think it’ll be a nice way to close out the week, particularly on weeks like this, when the news cycle is dominated by a VERY small handful of stories.
